It's aim to involve young people in giving Service and friendship, particularty the eldedy and lonely to improve the quality of their lifo. by giving practical help and their time a￿1 interest 8nd in doin9 $0. providing mutual benefrt5 to both the young and old. Since 1964, Task For￿ has worked with some 15,000 young volunteers in London alone. The Tru$Ys aim was to raise Money tD fund th85e activities. When Task Force closed its ttoors in th8 1980's. the Trust decided to furKJ similar organisations which involved younger people helping in Ihe communty wi various ways Between 1985 and 2005 th Trust engaged in spasmodic activity, however, with th help of the Michael 8i$hop Foundation. a plan wa5 conceived to involve youn9er asylum seekers to giviTrJ voluntary 8ervio to the community in which they lived together with local ￿0pkn. Natlonal Lottery In 2020 the Lottery offered Task FO￿ Trust a de¥elopment grant to test the viability of extending thi8 initiative. The 2023-24 financial statement hvahlights a unique financial arrangement to utilise existing organisations already working with young asylum $eeker$ by making modest payments to existing NGO'S already workin9 in this field tc enable asylum seèkers lo undertake part time community wo as volunteer5. In this wèy'Actien Asylum. project funded by the Task Force Trust brought asylum skers tg9ether with existing cotnrnunrty group$.
