The orvjinal pu￿05& of the Task Force Trust estsblished in 1975 was to give efte¢t to the existing
work of Task Force. It's aim to involve young people in giving Service and friendship, particularty the
eldedy and lonely to improve the quality of their lifo. by giving practical help and their time a￿1 interest
8nd in doin9 $0. providing mutual benefrt5 to both the young and old.
Since 1964, Task For￿ has worked with some 15,000 young volunteers in London alone. The Tru$Ys
aim was to raise Money tD fund th85e activities. When Task Force closed its ttoors in th8 1980's. the
Trust decided to furKJ similar organisations which involved younger people helping in Ihe communty wi
various ways Between 1985 and 2005 th* Trust engaged in spasmodic activity, however, with th
help of the Michael 8i$hop Foundation. a plan wa5 conceived to involve youn9er asylum seekers to
giviTrJ voluntary 8ervio to the community in which they lived together with local ￿0pkn.
Natlonal Lottery
In 2020 the Lottery offered Task FO￿ Trust a de¥elopment grant to test the viability of extending thi8
initiative. The 2023-24 financial statement hvahlights a unique financial arrangement to utilise existing
organisations already working with young asylum $eeker$ by making modest payments to existing
NGO'S already workin9 in this field tc enable asylum seèkers lo undertake part time community wo
as volunteer5. In this wèy'Actien Asylum. project funded by the Task Force Trust brought asylum
s*kers tg9ether with existing cotnrnunrty group$.
Section 3.2 of the Task Force Trust de•S specifically state$ to achieve its objective$ the trustees can
do all things that are incidental or conductiv8 there to support and contribute to the fund5 of any other
charitable organisation with similar objectiv¥$. The Lottery grant Was Spent prudently s*ith th8
minimal overheads and lirnrt8d c8ntral cost5.
A national coordinator Iwho is a qualified social workerl. housed a5 staff wrth NGO Asylum Link has
continued to work to extend th8'Aclion Asylum. project plan. Merseyside has proved during the year
to be th818rgest and rnost successful of the six eurrent operations. the othets bein9 Portstnouth.
Stockton-on-Tee$. Leed$. Cardiff and Wakefield. The total number of asylum se8k8rs involved over
23r24 has ¢ontinued to grow with participants from a total of 96 dilferent countrie5 an¢J the nurnber ol
local peop18 1$ increa51n9 rnonth by month as well.
Aciivrties have ranged frorn growing food for community food banks, c188ning tseaches and eAnals of
litter. tree planting and other environmental and welfare operations, including placements for skille
C8rpenters to build furnituw for families on low In¢ome$, and cookin9 for deslilution projects. Where
possibb volunteers are matched to placement$ where they Can use their exi5b.ng skills as w?11 as
develop new skills. What th8 Task Force Trust has proved is that Using existin9 organisalion$. young
asylurn seekers are ready to contribute to envir¢nrngntal and socia5 irnprovernents.

The Task Force Trust trustees have been responsible for a growin9 bud9et for 202Y2024. Any
profe$sional help has been employed on a part-time charitable basis. If the Action Asylum initiatnie
continues to expand to more wder areas. a wider sp8Ctrum of trustees will be con5ider8d. Task Force
Tru51 has fountl a way to rel88se the latent tslent of Ihou58nds of asylum seekers joiniThJ wrth bcal
people jointly for the common good.

The Executive Cornmitt8fr's polity at present is to inve$t In low-risk and r8a50nèbly liquid assets, so
that funds are available to meet any unforeseen need5 thgt may arise.
Executive Commlttee'8 Responsiblllty
The Chairman 15 ￿sponsIb￿ for preparing the Annual Report and the financial statements in
accordance b*ith applicable law. And UK generally accepted accounting pradice. Charity law required
the Executive Committee to prepa￿ financial Statements for each financial year which give a true and
fair view of the st*e of affairs of the tru$t 8nd of the surplu$ or deficit for Ihat period.
The trustses have overall ￿PonsIbIlity for en$urin9 that the trust has an appropriate $ystern of
controls. financial and otherwise. It is also responsible for keepin9 proper a¢countin9 ￿CordS whith
di5¢1ose wth reasonable a¢¢uracy at any time. the fin8n¢i81 position of the trust. It is also responsib
ror safeguarding the assets of the trust. and hence for taking reasonable step5 for ihe prev8ntion and
detection of fraud and oth8r irregulariti￿.

The rnajor ri$k8 to which the Trust IS Potentially exposed Isu¢h as financial and le981 liabililiesl. as
identified by the Trustees, have been reviewed In the accounting year and we a￿ ¢onfident that we
bave the approprote systems and procedures in place to rnrtigate these risk5.
The Trust attepted the Resynation of the Chaimian Anthony D Steen on 6 No¥emb8r 2024.
