Policy on grant making Para 1.38 All Grants are made following ‘due
diligence’ procedures and with support
from the majority of members.
It is our policy to purchase goods and
services rather than distribute finance,
where this is possible, thus giving us
improved audit capabilities.
Each project is managed professionally
and supervised by Officers of the Club.

the Club all of whom have voting rights.
There are two Honorary Mbrs and
eighteen ‘Friends of Rotary’ who have

club’s activities during the year:-
Community

Organisation of
Youth Speaks’ and
‘Young Chef’ competitions for
schools;;;
Gosport Rotary Academic Bursury
awarded to a local student starting their
University Course;
‘Kids Out’ Special School annual day
out organised;
Assistance given to ‘Young Carers’ in
conjunction with an adjacent Club;
Continued support given to a local Food
Bank with weekly deliveries by
Rotarians totalling several thousand
pound over the year;
The Christmas Sleigh Tour;
The ~Alverstoke Michaelmas Fayre
event;
Financial support given to the
Hampshire Air Ambulance;
The Stokes Bay Vehicle Rally which, as
well as attracting over 400 vehicle
entries and many members of the public
also raised over Ten Thousand Pounds
to help fund our Benevolent activites;
A number of small donations made to
local causes;
We organised the ‘Coronation
Community Chest’ where small local
charities and ‘not for profit’
organisations were invited to bid for
small grants to celebrate the King’s
Coronation, which resulted in fourteen

recipients sharing £13,500. International Substantial donations have been made to Rotary International Projects including the Eradication of Polio worldwide; The Club has also supported the delivery of Shelter and Aquaboxes to scenes of disaster, provided finance to the Islamabad Rotary Club to assist in their flood relief work, and financial assistance to British Rotary teams delivering medical equipment and assistance to Ukraine, financial support for ‘Marys Meals’ ;as well as our annual collection of Christmas Shoeboxes, containing gifts for children, which joined our District collection and were delivered to Eastern European countries where local Rotary Clubs presented them to recipients in the poorer areas.

Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act I I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accoLJnts Carried oul under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in Carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.
