NOTRE DAME PREPARATORY SCHOOL INORWICHI LIMITED IA company limited by guarantee) INDEPENDENT AUDITORS. REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF NOTRE DAME PREPARATORY SCHOOL INORWICH) LIMITED (CONTINUED) Responsibilities of trustees As explained more fully in the Irusle8s' responsibilities statement, the Trustees (who are also the directors of the ch8rilable company for the purposes of company 18wI are responsible for the prep8ralion of the financial stslemenls and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view, and for such internal control as the Trustees delemiine is necessary lo enable the preparation of financial statements that are free from material misstalemenl, whether due to fraud or error. In preparing the financial statements, the Trustees are responsible for assessing the ch8ritable company's ability to continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related lo going concem and using the going concem basis of accounting unless the Trustees either intend to liquidate the charitable company or to ce8se operations, or have no realistic allemalive bul to do so. Audltors, responslbllltles for Ihe audlt of the flnanclal statements Our objectives are lo obtsin reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstalemenl, whelh9r due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditors, report that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assuranc8, but is not 8 gu8rant8e that an 8udit conducted in accordance wth ISAS IUKI will always detect a material misstatement when il exists. Misstalemenls can arise from fr8ud or error and are considered material if, individually or in the aggregate. they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these financi81 slalements. Irregularities, including fraud, 8re ins18nces of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design procedures in line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect material misstatements in respect of irregularities, including fr8ud. The extent lo which our procedures are cap8ble of detecting irregularities, including fraud is detailed below.. Explanatlon as to what extent the audlt was consldered capable of detectlng Irregularltles. Includlng fraud The objectives of our audit in respect of fraud, are., lo identify and assess the risks of material misslalement of the financial statements due lo fr8ud,' to obtain sufficient appropriate 8udil evidence regarding the assessed risks of material misstatement due to fraud, through designing and implementing appropriate responses lo those assessed risks- and lo respond appropriately lo instances of fraud or suspected fraud identified during the audit. However, the primary responsibility for the prevention and detection of fraud rests with both m8nagemenl and those charged with governance of the charity. Our approach was as follows.. We obtsin9d an understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements applicable lo the charity and considered that the most significant are the Ch8rities Act 2011 and UK financial reporting standards as issued by the Financial Reporting Council. We obtained an understanding of how the charity complies with these requirements by discussions with those charged with governance. We assessed the risk of material misstslemenl of the financi81 s18tements, including the risk of material misstalemenl due to fraud and how il might occur, by holding discussions with those ch8rged with g0veman￿. We inquired of those charged with governance as to any known instances of non-compliance or suspected non-compliance with laws and regulations. Page 12

NOTRE DAME PREPARATORY SCHOOL INORWICHI LIMITED IA company limited by guarantee) INDEPENDENT AUDITORS. REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF NOTRE DAME PREPARATORY SCHOOL INORWICH) LIMITED (CONTINUED) Based on this undgrstsnding, we designed specific appropri8te audit procedures to identify instances of non- compliance with laws and regulations. This included making enquiri8s of those charged with governance and obtaining additional corroborative evidence as required. Because of the inherent limitations of an audit, there is a risk that we will not delect all irregul8rilies, including those leading to a material misslatgmenl in the financial stslements or non-compliance with regulation. This risk increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from the evants and transactions reflected in the financial stslemenls, as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non-complianc8. The risk is also greater regarding irregularities occurring due to fraud rather than error, as fraud involves inlenlion81 concealment, forgery, collusion, omission or misrepresentslion. A further description of our responsibilities for the 8udit of the financi81 slatem8nls is located on the Financial Reporting Council's website al.. www.frc.or -uklaudilorsres onsibilits'es.
