The Maritime Heritage Trust has continued to promote the interests of the historic vessel sector wherever it can. - The webinar series has been aimed at identifying vessel and project issues and helped identify new thinking for participants to consider; - The principal activity by the MHT Friends organisation was a visit to the Isle of Wight exploring local maritime museums and other attractions. - Working with National Historic Ships we have continued to lead the Heritage Harbours project to work with local communities to help them persuade local authorities and others to look at the bigger picture and vessel links with harbours and their facilities, buildings, artefacts and the wider cultural heritage in which ships and boats are part of our identities. One MHT Trustee led an intensive process of engagement to encourage take-up of the concept. |

MHT’s main activities have been: - to build a network for the Heritage Harbour concept working alongside National Historic Ships UK and through liaison with individual ports; - MHT continues to represent the UK on European Maritime Heritage (EMH) its work to promote maritime heritage internationally; - To help identify concerns in the historic vessel community recorded webinars were held on “Getting on Board- Attracting new people” and “Creating Community and Individual Benefits”. Recordings are available on YouTube; - A stakeholder and governance Review was carried out to help update and extend the role of the charity and prepare for Board restructure. |
