Management: The Village Hall is managed by a small team of volunteers from the two villages. Members are recruited as and when needed by advertising in the parish magazine and on the local Facebook page along with word of mouth. The committee is subdivided into various sub committees for events, garden maintenance and bar.
Objectives: Our objectives are to operate the Village Hall for the benefit of the
community and to maintain and improve the building and grounds.
Achievements and Performance: Bookings for the hall have increased through the year and it is becoming a popular wedding venue. Comedy nights are coming a regular feature with a local promoter bring big name performers to the village.
Various damp issues have come to light resulting in replacement of skirting boards in the hall way. A full damp survey was undertaken and much of it is down to the design of this old building and all we can do is manage it and repair where appropriate.
A grant application is in for the refurbishment of the kitchen area and we waiting to hear if we have been successful. Our application for solar panels was declined and alternative sources of finance will be explored.
Finance: Our finances are in good shape and we are lucky that our electrical supply is on a fixed tariff until the end of 2024. At the end of this period our available funds were £41,500.
