Chairman, Members of the Committee, Ladies and Gentleman,
The Executive Members present to you the Financial Statements for the year ended 31st March 2022. The enclosed Income & Expenditure Statement the Group's Income amounted to £27,069 and with Expenditure of £15,781 this gives a surplus for the year of £11,288.
Cash in Hand and at the Bank amounted to £43,970 .
Income and Expenditure has been prepared on a cash basis of accounting which means that the statement shows the actual cash received and paid in the year, compared to the previous year. Payments and receipts are not matched against each other or against the period they relate to, but are recorded when they occur.
Total Income amounted to £27,069 , up £2,249 from £24,820 in the previous year, and can be largely explained by : -

Increased income from Subscriptions, up £1,607 from last year to £9,289, as a result of members re-joining / joining following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions relative to the previous year.

- Increased income from Activities, up £601 from last year to £601. Total Expenditure incurred amounted to £15,781 , up £4,375 from £11,406 in the previous year, and can be largely be explained by:-

Increased expenditure on Capitation, up £2,739 from last year to £5,144, as a result of increased Group membership following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions relative to the previous year and an increase in the Capitation cost per member.

- Increased expenditure on Activities, up £1,597 from last year to £2,287.
Since Sept 2005 the Executive committee have agreed that the Piglits Pre-school could use the Scout Building, they would be responsible for any additional costs they incurred, and would also help decorate and maintain the building. The Executive committee view that this arrangement has been beneficial, and have therefore agreed that they can continue continue to use the building for the foreseeable future. Overall the Executive Members have managed and maintained the resources of the Group in an effective and efficient manner, and the Group continues to thrive.
