Clevedon Civic Society Annual report 2025.
In 2025 we had a full range of Society talks and History talks, on the second and Thursday of the month. In total 9 x Society talks and 10 x History talks.
The Environment Group met every month to clear local foot-paths and parks. Attendance was very consistent between 8 – 12 members working for an hour & half on the first Monday of the month.
The Footpaths & Walking Group had well attended monthly walks and a popular holiday, when 22 people attended a HF hotel in Exmoor for a walking holiday, 17 – 20 October.
In the summer several society members helped facilitate the new plinth on Six-ways roundabout. This was to accommodate a replica of the pioneering 1898 Stephens car, built in the town. The replica was donated by Clevedon Cars & Coffee, enthusiastically led by Mark Reber.
The society made a significant contribution to this project, including a blue plaque to be installed early in 2026. We helped with the campaign to the Town Council to obtain their grant.
The inclusion of income received and expenditure incurred during the year on the walking holiday and the Stephens car project mentioned has altered the usual presentation of the accounts.
Membership was about 94 renewals for the year.
The AGM on 8[th] Jan 2026 went well and we have a dedicated committee for the forthcoming year, with a full programme of events.
Jonathan Hurford, Chairman elected on 8[th] Jan. 2026

I audited the Financial Statements of the Clevedon Civic Society for the year ended 30 September 2025.
In my opinion they present a fair and true position with no material matter giving cause for further investigation.
