Obl¢cts and alms Th8 object for whlch the charity was fomied and its principal aciivity remains the organisation of a competitlve festival of music, elocution, drama and dance on an annual basis, and to promote education in these fields. Thls competitive festival, take8 place each yèar In Februarylmarch at the White Rock Theatre. The charity aims to provide opportunities and encouragement to performers of all ages. It also provides SUPPOrt to young people aiming for careers in the performing arts, by uslng proceeds from the annual festival to provide grants to them. In May 2019 an addltional fund, th8 Molly Townson Bursary Fund, was established for thls purpose and received donatlons in memory of our fomier Chair, Molly Townson. Hastings Musical Festival provides opportunities to prize-winners of the Festival through organ181ng events and partnerships with other local organisations. The charfty also aim8 to 8UPPOrt local schools in provldlng performance opportunitle8 for thelr puplls and encouraging participatlon In the perfomlng arts. Hastings Musical Festival maintains Risk Registers for health and safety at their events.
