The show h3¥ lET￿r$. hope and laughter. A5 1 ventured on¢e or tY•¢e Into Macaroni Woods in tha SLSmmeT, I thought that Oxford and District M8ncap could put on just as good a show as a big London theatrel And it wouldn't be just a fairy tal8. 72 guests and 90 volunteers w8nt Into those woods for a holiday this y88r. None ol this could happen wrthoul our guests. staff. voluntèers, carers, funders and lots of events to r815e the wind. A very big thank you all rtsund. But ts¥o people stsnd out in the story of th¢s year as they havg done for many years. They a￿ Julia and Bruce F8irbairn who 6adtyfor us rètire in January 2026. Where to begin and Wh8￿ lo end in saying trank you to them is difft¢uIL Julia in so many adminlstrative and practical ways has made sure Ihose wond8rful holidays in the woods hawe happened and been a sucn a success, whilst Bruce has worked hard on the nol always 8xcits.ng jobs of arranging meetings, wriling up minutes. keeping an ey8 on what the trustees are UP to- and nèed lo be up tol b8sides being at Julia's side as they h8ve organised fvnd raising events like tne magnifiLent dinner in Novembcr and the ChriStrn￿$ Darty for 120 In December. Many people18ave a hole when we say good-by8, but Bruce and Julia will leave a very big holB indead. W9 owe thgm an immens8 debt of gralilude and wtsh Ihem wall in the nexi part of their journey togeth8r Tom and their famity. r grabtude also goes lo Eamonn Mcdonald as he retires, mainly for health rèasons.
