The purpose of the Charity is to maintain the J G and S Mellers Almshouses at 178, 180, 182, 184, 186, 188 and 190 Wollaton Vale, Nottingham to provide housing for necessitous persons of good character and reputation being residents in the City of Nottingham.
Objects: Homes For Poor And Aged Residents Of The City Or County Of Nottingham. (1) The Occupants Shall Be Necessitous Persons Being Residents In The City Or County Of Nottingham. Priority Shall Be Given: Firstly, To Ex-Armed Forces Personnel And Their Partners; Andsecondly, To Those That Have Resided In The City Or County Of Nottingham For Not Less Than 10 Years Prior To Their Application For Appointment As Resident And Who Are Not Less Than 50 Years Old.(2) So Long As Reasonably Possible, Not Less Than Three Of The Homes Shall Be Occupied By Ex-Armed Forces Personnel And Their Partners.
