Trustees’ Report for the year ending 30th June 2023. 1.Structure and Management.
(a) Constitution.
The Charity is an unincorporated trust established by a Declaration of Trust dated 1[st] July 1965.
(b) Appointment of Trustees.
The Trustees are the President, President Elect, Treasurer and Secretary of the Rotary Club of Hexham (“the Club”).
(c) Management.
The Trustees convene as required to make decisions regarding the investment of the Trust assets and the advancement of funds in pursuance of the Objects of the Charity with the approval of the members of the Club. The Trustees meet annually to approve the financial accounts. The Trustees always maintain sufficient funds to meet current expenditure.
2. The Objects of the charity.
The relief of poverty the advancement of education the advancement of health and other purposes beneficial to the community provided the same are exclusively charitable
purposes within the meaning of the law of England and Wales. The trustees have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. The balance of monies held at the 30[th] June 2022 was £16,997.79, of which the sum of £15,431.24 was ringfenced for specific ongoing charitable support.
4. Income
During the year, the Charity received gross income of £35,114.23.
5. Expenditure
The expenses of undertaking the charitable activities were £10,514.55 (of this sum, £6,555.00 was passed to other Rotary Clubs as their shares of a joint fund raising event); the Charity made grants and donations of £12838.49
