Para 1.20 In 2024-2025 the First Church of Christ,
Scientist, Leamington Spa provided in person
and virtual church services and Sunday School
on Sundays and testimony meetings on
Wednesdays.
The Reading Room remained open several days
a week throughout the year and continued to be
a welcoming place of quiet study, conversation
and community presence in central Leamington
Spa. Window displays were updated regularly
with Bible citations, articles from the Christian
Science Sentinel and Christian Science Monitor,
and seasonal themes.
During the year the Reading Room participated
in a number of community events, including the
Leamington Spa pumpkin trail in October, the
town’s Festival of Light parade in November, and
welcomed Junior Focus participants to the
Sunday service and Sunday School in
November. The Society also joined the
Warwickshire Retail Crime Initiative shop radio
scheme to support local safety.
Visitors came from the local area and further
afield, with conversations covering scripture,
prayer, healing, and the practical application of
Christian Science. New attendees became
regular visitors at Sunday services during the
year, and Reading Room stock was refreshed
and expanded through co-operation with
neighbouring branches.
We have continued to hold in person and virtual
meetings to enable those outside the local area
to participate in services.
