U.S.A. and as such<br>hold church services on Sundays and<br>Wednesday evenings, as well as supporting a<br>Reading Room where members of the public<br>may purchase religious texts or use our free<br>lending library. The Reading Room also provides<br>a quiet study area for people to come and sit, or<br>ask for help or advice from the librarian.|

|**Summary of the main**<br>**achievements of the**<br>**charity, identifying the**<br>**difference the charity’s**<br>**work has made to the**<br>**circumstances of its**<br>**beneficiaries and any**<br>**wider benefits to society**<br>**as a whole.**|_Para 1.20_|In 2024-2025 the First Church of Christ,<br>Scientist, Leamington Spa provided in person<br>and virtual church services and Sunday School<br>on Sundays and testimony meetings on<br>Wednesdays.<br>The Reading Room remained open several days<br>a week throughout the year and continued to be<br>a welcoming place of quiet study, conversation<br>and community presence in central Leamington<br>Spa. Window displays were updated regularly<br>with Bible citations, articles from the Christian<br>Science Sentinel and Christian Science Monitor,<br>and seasonal themes.<br>During the year the Reading Room participated<br>in a number of community events, including the<br>Leamington Spa pumpkin trail in October, the<br>town’s Festival of Light parade in November, and<br>welcomed Junior Focus participants to the<br>Sunday service and Sunday School in<br>November. The Society also joined the<br>Warwickshire Retail Crime Initiative shop radio<br>scheme to support local safety.<br>Visitors came from the local area and further<br>afield, with conversations covering scripture,<br>prayer, healing, and the practical application of<br>Christian Science. New attendees became<br>regular visitors at Sunday services during the<br>year, and Reading Room stock was refreshed<br>and expanded through co-operation with<br>neighbouring branches.<br>We have continued to hold in person and virtual<br>meetings to enable those outside the local area<br>to participate in services.|

Additional income<br>was generated through donations and sales from<br>the Reading Room.<br>Total expenditure for the year was £27,762,<br>covering key operational costs including Reading<br>Room salary (£12,487), premises costs (£3,045),<br>utilities (£1,954), Reading Room cost of sales|

Other costs included insurance,<br>subscriptions, music for services, outreach, and<br>bank charges.<br>The financial result for the year was a surplus of<br>£3,392, returning the charity to surplus following<br>a small deficit in the previous year.<br>These reserves provide a strong foundation for<br>the charity’s ongoing activities and ensure its<br>ability to continue delivering services in the<br>future. The trustees will continue to monitor<br>financial performance to maintain stability and<br>align spending with the charity’s objectives.<br>Statement explaining the  Para 1.22 Regular giving, is in the weekly church<br>policy for holding  collections and by regular donations. Projects<br>reserves stating why  are only undertaken following a vote of the<br>they are held church membership. Contracts are not entered<br>into until the necessary funds for the project have<br>been secured.
