demonstrate and spread the knowledge of
the Truth as set forth in the Bible and
interpreted in Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures by Mary baker Eddy, the
Discoverer and Founder of Christian
Science, and leader of the Christian Science
Movement.
The worldwide Christian Science Church, is
"designed to commemorate
the word and works of our Master [Christ
Jesus], which should reinstate primitive
Christianity and its lost element of
healing."(Church Manual, page 17).

We are a branch of The First Church of
Christ, Scientist, in Boston Mass. U.S.A.
and as such hold church services on
Sundays and Wednesday evenings, as well
as supporting a Reading Room where
members of the public may purchase
religious texts or use our free lending library.
The Reading Room also provides a quiet
study area for people to come and sit, or ask
for help or advice from the librarian.

complied with the Charities Act 2011 to have
due regard to the public benefit
guidance published by the Charity
Commission in determining the activities
undertaken by the Charity.
The church intends to continue encouraging
the public to attend its services, testimony
meetings and lectures, and to use its reading
room. Our Church activities are open to
everyone and all who wish to share in them
are warmly welcomed.

Scientist provided in person and virtual
church services & Sunday School on
Sundays and testimony meetings on
Wednesdays.
The Church and Reading Room premises
are open several days a week thanks to
donations and grants received. We have
been pleased to receive new and returning
visitors.
Public Lectures by UK and US members of
the Board of Lectureship were sponsored
around the time of the Commonwealth
Games events taking place locally in July
and August.
We have continued to hold in person and
virtual meetings to enable those outside the
local area to participate in services.

the charity maintained a stable financial
position. Total income for the period
amounted to £66,588 with the most
significant contributions coming from
bequests (£48,532), rent (£9,900), and
donations (£3,797). Additional income was
generated through grants, sales from the
Reading Room, and premises-related
activities.
Total expenditure for the year was £23,788,
covering key operational costs such as
outreach (£5,908), Reading Room salary
(£9,953), and utilities (£2,462). Other costs
included materials, subscriptions,
consultancy fees, and IT-related expenses.
The financial result for the year was a
surplus of £42,800.
These reserves provide a strong foundation
for the charity's ongoing activities and
ensure its ability to continue delivering
services in the future. The trustees will
continue to monitor financial performance to
maintain stability and align spending with the
charity’s objectives.
