Bridlington Amateur Operatsc and Dramatic So(Mety Chairs Reportrrrustees report to 31 December 2023 Mike thanked the various officers of the society for their support and hard work through the year. Tribute was paid to Anne Clough a stalwart of the society who died during the year. A photograph album of BAODS photographs and cuttings from and old member who had died had also been presented to the society. During the year Spotlight Theatre had hosted 8 OU.de shows together with several of it's own shows. Afthough not yet back to our full potential with our own shows we are making progr8 and hosted a well receivéd comedy play sell out musical and a summer show which also had very good attendances together wrth The Spotlight singers (our Choir> performing a Join the Dots show perfonned wrth our musical director and last but not least a pantomime. All in all a fair comeback after the Covid shutdowns. Trustees Roport Spotlight has joined partnership wrth Arcade to create a junior Spotlight youth group. The foresight being to children to the theatre. We let them use the theatre for free, they give us 50Vo of the proceeds of their shows. They will perform Addams family at the end of June. The theatre is regularfy used in the main as 8 rehearsal space as well as for shows. This and the low attendance figures for filrns and scr88nings as a lot of films offered are available on celestial TV have meant that screening events have tsken a hrt and wa continue to work on that. The Spotlight Singers performances brought donations of £100 and £2(K) respectively forn the LK>ns Club and the Bridlington Town Association. Bridlington tourist Associab'on donated £600 to Spotlight from their dinner dance evening. The new workshop is nearly complete. More funding is required for finishing. Lots of rubbish from the old workshop has been skipped in readiness for new works. The old theatre lights were not worth anything in monetary value and 80 have been donated to Mike

Allen a helpful light and sound engineer for a Grammer school in Beverley. The children will leam how they work. We are warting new for new architectural plans for the old workshop refurbishment into a new rehearsal and prop storage space. Sue Rawson and Richard Mainprize have been made lrfe members.
