The Institute is the community hub of the village, providing a wide range of activities. The Constitution contains complex provisions including bi-annual retirement of representative Committee members and election of new representative Committee members and new Trustees by the qualified parishioners of the Consolidated Chapelry of Troutbeck in vestry assembled for the annual election of churchwardens, but also provision that (1) unless new representative Committee members are elected as provided in the Constitution, then existing Committee members remain in office until a successor is duly appointed; and (2) casual vacancies of both Trustees and representative Committee members may be filled by the Committee until successors are duly appointed. Trustees hold office until a vacancy occurs. |
