The Management Committee consists of volunteers, some of those whom work strategically in fund raising, and publicising the camp, those whom directly impact on the organisation, administration and management of the Camp, and together confirm the prioritisation on the funds raised in maintaining and developing the facilities and presentation of the site and buildings. The Trustees and management committee hosted at Halloween ball fundraiser event at the Vermilion Banqueting Suite. Manchester which proved extremely successful in bringing in funds, formal dinner for 650 gusts incorporating at live entertainment and plenty of support from a number of companies. The Halloween Ball was attended by the Salford Mayor and other local dignitaries which not only raised the profile of the Charity but also directly resulted in the Charity being selected as a supported Charity for the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford for 2021/2022. In addition to the Halloween Ball, the Trustees and volunteers held a Big Fix Crowdfunding campaign to kick-start the redevelopment of the camp buildings in the near future. . |
| Achievements and Performance . |
During the period of the report, a total of 433 visitors stayed at Camp including 184 young people from the City of Salford and their teachers. The Camp hosted 38 disadvantaged young people from other areas. Attendance at the camp was significantly lower to 31stMarch 2022 due to the impact of Covid 19 across England and Wales and the decision by our regular groups not to attend camp to avoid the risk of Covid 19 despite growing confidence in the wider community due to the implementation of the vaccine programme. The community café has continued to grow and is now a vital asset within the local community. Bookings and attendance have fallen by approximately 45% due to the impact of Covid 19. However, the camp has been used to host blood donor sessions providing further community benefit during difficult times |
