Methods of appointment or eloctlon of Trustees The original trustees were appointed under the Will of John Fricker. The Will provided for the trustees named therein and their heirs and assigns. The current trustees a￿ individuals with a thorough knowledge of the Sslisbury area and are from business backgrounds within the city of Salisbury. The Iruslees are selected using a recrLtitmenl process considering their knowledge of historical buildings andlDr the local Salisbury areas, ils businesses and churches. c. Organisational Structure and declslon-maklng policles The Will of John Fricker does not specifi¢alty identify the number of trustees require lo administer the ¢harily and therefore the appropriate stalules, suth as the Trustees Act. are adopted. The day to day management of the charity is conducted by the chairrnan. However, any specific decision making ￿qUIT&s a Iruslees meeting lo be held. Sub-committees of Iruslees are formed where specrfic issues need lo bè dealt with. As to the number ot the sub-¢ommrtiee, this is decided by the trustees after due consideration of the task at hand. Pollcies and objectives UndeT the will, the property, now known as number 8 Queen Street, Salisbury was left to the trustees upon trust originally to pay lor the sUPPOrt of twelve matrons in Trinity Hospital at 51- each per year, with the remainder of the income being payable lo the rectors of the Salisbury Parishes of Sl Edmund and Sl Martin. Responsibility for the distribution of the funds received by the two parishes rested with the respe¢live re¢lors. Under the new Scheme, after rneeling the proper cosls of administering the charity (including the propetyl. the trustees are directed to divide the income into three equal parts. one third of which is to be paid to the trustees of Trinity Hospital Inow part of Salisbury City Almshouse and Welfare Charities) lo be applied for such charitable purposes for the benefit of the residents of Trinty Almshouse5, Trinity Street, Salisbury as th? Strategies for achieving objectives The trustees manage the property from whi¢h the rental income is derived. In October each year, the trustees approvè the p3ymenls lo be made for the year from the income received after the deduction of expenses and any transfer lo the Repairs Reserve. The property was let throughout the year to the Same lenanl and there was no void period in that time. The Tnjslees remain conceined about the slate of repair of the building and have Sought specialisl advice 8¥ 10 the Eosl of necessary remedial works which significantly exceed the level of funds in the Designated Repairs Reserve.The Trustees continue lo have a cautious approach making grant payments lo beneficiaries to ensure that reserves a￿ built to match the level of outstanding wDrk potentially required on the building. The Trustees have received notice that the tenant will be ending their tenancy in November 2024 and therefore the Trustees remain cautious on the level of charstable dislribulions until repairs lo the building are complete and a new lenanl is found.
