Trustses hoped to build new Almshou3es in Bethnal G￿en to ￿p1a￿ the ones lost and while they pursued various development projects, unfortunatèly it was ntst Possible to achieve this airn. Pla￿n9 looked at 3 sites outsidè Of Bethnal Green the Company purch85ed 6 bungalows on a new developrnent in Gl8Cton on Sea, Essex in Septemberloctober 2010 and de51gnaled Pa9e 4

They have currenuy decided to pause acquiring additional almshouses due to a concern about the affordability ol rising costs for maintaining and managing property., to rneet health and safety regubb'ons and their impact on the work the Chanty doe5 to support Pensioners in Bethnal Green and to tathle sooal isolation. Following the Covid-19 pandemic. the Trustees have re-commen1￿ 30ry81 events for the pensioner benelKiaries in Bethnal Green and the annual visit lo the almshouse residents. Thè trustees have contsnued to consider appropriate measures to protect the pensioners attending events from Cowd The Iwice-yeady pension payments have continued to be distributed. Pensioners unable lo attend events re￿1ve a hamper ather at Christmas or Eid. The trustees keep the number of pansioners on the roll under rogular rewew and they are currently recruiting rn0￿ pensioners as nurnbais ha￿ raduced. The advertisement has been circulated to a broad range of organisations and through Social m8dia to ensure all the communities in their area olbenefit a aware ol the Gharity and have thè opportunity tts make an application. Durfng the course of the year the Charity has set up an Extraordinary Repair5 Fund in ordèr to plan for expenditure on component replacements at the almshouses, eg boilers and window frarnes.
