The purposes of the charity are the relief In sickness of needy persons and such other charitable purposes as the Trustee5 think fit. The initlal funding ofthe charity wa5 provided by the sale of the property and land known as Morris Grange which was operated by the North Yorkshire County Branch of the British Red Cross Society, as a holiday home. TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES= The Trustees are required under the Charities Act 1993 to prepare financial statements for each financial year which 8ive a true and fair view of the state of the charivs financial activities durlng the vear and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those financlal statements. the trustees are required to follow best practice and,. selert suitable accounting pollcles and then apply them conslstently. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent, stste whether applicable accounting standards and ststements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements, prepare the financial statements on the 8oin8 concem basls unless It is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for: keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with applicable law and re8ulations safeguarding the assets of the charlty and hen for tsking reasonable steps for the preventlon and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The charivs trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Art 20111"the Charities ACV'I and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to". examine the accounts under 5ettion 145 of the Charities Act. to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5){bl of the Charities Act. and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
