MAKES GRANTS TO WOMEN ONLY IN REDUCED FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES BY PROVIDING THEM WITH TANGIBLE ITEMS TO HELP EASE THEIR DAY-TO-DAY LIVING IN THE LONG TERM. IT IS NOT WITHIN THE REMIT TO SETTLE DEBTS, OUTSTANDING BILLS, EDUCATIONAL COURSES, HEALTHCARE TREATMENT, ETC. RESPITE BREAKS ARE CONSIDERED ONLY IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

Objects: (1) The Trustees Shall Apply The Income Of The Charity For The Relief Of Gentlewomen In Reduced Cirmcumstances In Grants Of Money Including Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing The Provision Of Scholarships, Bursaries And Other Methods For The Purpose Of Encouraging Talent In Music, Art, Drama, Science, Literature Or Other Forms Of Learning. Preference Shall Be Given To Those Qualified As Aforesaid Who Are Of Jewish Faith.(2) If And So Far As The Trustees Are Unable In Any Year To Apply The Income Of The Charity In Accordance With Subsection (1) Above, They May Apply The Income Of The Charity In Aid Of Any Properly Constituted Jewish Charity Or Charities.
