Activities
The charity is established to provide financial assistance to the Vicar of Cirencester and the poor of Cirencester.
Objects: “8. Expenses of management - The Trustees shall first defray out of the income of the Charity all the proper costs, charges and expenses of and incidental to the administration and management of the Charity.9. Application of income - Subject to the payments aforesaid the Trustees shall apply the yearly income of the Charity in the following manner:(a) The Trustees shall pay one-sixth part of the income to St John’s Hospital CIO (registered charity number 1204929) for the benefit of the individuals who qualify as beneficiaries of the said CIO and for whom the CIO provides or supports the provision of almshouse accommodation; and(b) The Trustees shall apply the remaining five-sixth parts of the income as they think fit for the benefit either of the poor of Cirencester and its environs generally or of such poor persons resident therein as they select and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing in one or more of the following ways:i. The provision, replacement or repair of household items;ii. The provision of food and fuel;iii. The provision of aids to support the sick;iv. The provision of travel to and from care homes, hospitals and other NHS services either for treatment or for visiting close relatives;v. The provision of equipment for those in apprenticeships, payment of fees for instruction or examination and payment for travelling expenses or such other costs that are a barrier to progression in a trade/professional career.”
