Activities

We support families in England and Wales bereaved by, or affected by, Group B Strep infection in a baby, providing memory boxes, comfort items and information, reached via neonatal units, hospital bereavement teams or direct contact. We also raise awareness of Group B Strep among expectant parents, using published NHS and Group B Strep Support guidance.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(a) To Relieve The Emotional And Practical Needs Of Families And Individuals Bereaved By, Or Otherwise Affected By, Group B Streptococcus Infection In Babies And Infants, In Particular By The Provision Of Comfort And Memory-Making Items, Bereavement Resources, Information, And Support; And(b) To Advance Public Health And Education By Raising Awareness And Understanding Of Group B Streptococcus Infection In Babies And Infants, Including Its Risks, Prevention, Detection And Treatment.
