Bideford Mens Shed is part of UK Mens Shed Association. It exists to promote the wellbeing of lonely and elderly people who can meet together to make and mend for the community.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(i) To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing People, Particularly But Not Exclusively Men Aged 18 Or Over, Women Over 18 Years Of Age May Also Be Included Within The Torridge District Council And Surrounding Area, From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving The Needs Of Those Who Are Socially Excluded And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society Through The Provision Of Of Facilities In Which They Can Individually Or Jointly To Undertake Creative, Physical Or Recreational Activities, Learn Or Pass On Skills And Knowledge To Support Each Other Socially.for The Purposes Of This Clause “Socially Excluded” Means Being Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of One Or More Of The Following Factors: (Unemployment, Financial Hardship; Youth Or Old Age; Ill Health (Physical Or Mental).(ii) For The Public Benefit, The Preservation And Protection Of Good Health Among People In The Torridge District Of Devon And Surrounding Areas, Including Those Who Are Retired, Unemployed Or Have Health Problems, Through The Provision Of Facilities For Hobbies, Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Including Practical Interests, Skills Sharing, The Learning Of New Skills, And Helping With Community Based Projects.
