UPCOTT CHRISTIAN TRUST CIO TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 Structure, Governance and Management Upcott Christian Trust CIO is a registered charitable incorporated organisation governed by its Constitution and led by a Board of Trustees who meet quarterly. The charity has been set up to continue the operations and activities of the former unincorporated charity, Axe Valley Christian Trust (Charity no: 2857831. A person who is willing and eligible to act as a trustee, and who would not be disqualified from this artion, may be appointed to be a trustee by a decision of the trustees. Trustees with relevant knowledge, skills or experience are appointed for the effective administration of the charity. Any decision of the trustees must be either by decision of a majority of the trustees present and voting at a quorate tru5tee5' meeting, or when the majority of trustees have indicated to all the trustees by any means (including email) that they share a common view on a matter. Objects, organisation and activities The charity is established to promote the Christian Gospel, and build up Christian people in their faith, through the Upcott Christian community and in accordance with the Basis of Belief, with particular reference to the property 'Upcott' and any other properties that may be acquired and used for all or any of the following: o training in Christian work and service o teaching Christianity to people of all ages o to minister to the needs of people as God directs o supporting the promotion of the Christian Gospel in the local area and anywhere else God directs providing facilities whereby Christian meetings may take place. In the event of the Upcott Christian Community ceasing to function, the above aims are to be carried out as the Trustees deem fit in accordance with the Basis of Belief. Public Benefit The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
UPCOTT CHRISTIAN TRUST CIO TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 Review of progress and achievements We have seen the continued development of the mentoring and leadership programs, and we have been working on developing partnerships with other churches and organisations where we can establish long term fflutually fruitful relationships. The year-round discipleship programs continue to run, making more of these sessions in person. Also, the young leaders, program is progressing well, as we equip our young people to become leaders in their own right, on our own weeks and courses as well as in other settings. A significant part of our work is funded by the incomelgains from our investment portfolio, managed by professional wealth managers. Our investment policy is to invest in low to medium risk ethical investments. We continue to review the performance of our wealth managers and are satisfied that they are managing the performance of our investments in line with market performance. We continue to assess and shape the work of the Trust on an ongoing bas15 to ensure we achieve our vision in the best possible way. We extend our warmest thanks to all our supporters, financial and otherwise, and volunteers for their continued support of our work. Future Plans In accordance with the general recommendations of the Charities Commission that the new legal form of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation is a more suitable format for charities to operate under. the operations and assets of Axe Valley Christian Trust (charity no. 2857831 have been transferred to the Upcott Christian Trust on 0110812025. The objectives and activities of Avct will continue unchanged under the Upcott Christian Trust IUCTI. UCT plans to continue the activities outlined above in forthcoming years and to continue to continue to build the number of people we are supporting with our activities. as well as the resource to provide these activities. This will include forming partnerships with like-minded organisations to support them in the development needs of their people and activities. Financial Review For the 2025 financial year, receipts comprised £15,928, including a transfer of assets from The Axe Valley Christian Trust of £14,668. Total payments were £7.553. As at 30 September 2025, Upcott Christian Trust CIO held total reserves, and total cash. of £8,375, and investments at market value were £644,841.
UPCOTT CHRISTIAN TRUST CIO TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 Reserve5 Policy The trustees have examined the charity's requirements for reserves in light of the key operational, governance, compliance and risks to the organisation. The unrestricted funds of £8,375 held in cash as at 30 September 2025 and investment assets of £644,841, which can be quickly and easily liquidated, are more than sufficient to meet this objective. The trustees do not currently have concerns about the ability of the charity to continue as a going concern.
UPCOTT CHRISTIAN TRUST CIO TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 Statement of trustees, responsibilities The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards including Financial Reporting Standard 102- The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the U K and Republic of Ireland (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the income and expenditure of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to: selert suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent,. state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping sufficient accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulation5 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed/constitution. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
