The APT is a not for profit charity for study and research in the mathematical sciences; founded in 1964 with the support of the London Mathematical Society. The main focus is the management of its flagship journals (Journal of Applied Probability and Advances in Applied Probability). Additionally, the office maintains pages on the topics of Job Adverts, Events, and Community initiatives.

Objects: To Advance Education And Research And The Publication Of The Useful Results Of Such Research In The Branch Of Mathematics Known As Applied Probability By The Publication Of Journals, In Particular The Journal Of Applied Probability And Advances In Applied Probability And The Provision Of Financial Support As Grants Or Fellowships To Support Or Assist Research Into The Principal Fields Of Mathematics Whether Connected To Probability Or Not.
