The charities main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to our objects:
-
a) oral health educational workshops in a range of settings such as primary schools, nurseries, community groups, support groups and home education groups. Our workshops advocate the importance of good oral health and provide those that attend our free sessions the knowledge and tools for good oral hygiene.
-
b) dental screening initiative – which is where we bring the dentist into the educational setting such as primary schools and nurseries. This is an opt-in service which is offered to all pupils and is the chance to be seen by a dentist and screened for any oral health problems such as tooth decay. Those that need treatment will be offered a free follow-up appointment under the NHS at a future date.
-
c) oral health improvement appointments are offered at four practice sites in Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Bradwell and Thorpe St Andrew. These appointments are free of charge and offer tailored one-to-one advice on oral health care.
-
d) oral health care training for health professionals such as care staff within residential settings, health visitors, community nurses and mental health services. These sessions offer oral health care training tailored to each audience and setting.
All the above is free for our service users. Our oral health advice is in line with Public Health England: Delivering Better Oral Health Toolkit which provides the service users with the knowledge on how to reduce the risk of tooth decay, correct toothbrushing techniques, diet advice, interdental cleaning, periodontal advice, acclimatisation appointments to help build confidence for those nervous patients, in particular those with additional needs.

All funds raised for the charity will go towards provisions for the charity and oral health resources for our service users.
