The Trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period from 22 August 2024 to 5 April 2025.

STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

The Harvey Dunmore Scholarship Foundation is an unincorporated charity governed by a constitution adopted on 22 August 2024. The trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity and are appointed in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.

The trustees meet regularly to review the charity’s activities, financial position, and compliance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). No trustee received any remuneration or personal benefit from the charity during the period

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Charitable objective

The charity's purpose is:

For the public benefit to promote education in vocational aviation to people aged 17 to 23 in Yorkshire and Teeside by awarding to such persons, grants and scholarships tenable at local flight schools.

Public benefit statement

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit

FINANCIAL REVIEW

Financial performance

Total income for the period was £38,063 of which £30,762 was generated by the Flyaway Ball. Separate donations amounting to £7,110 were also received primarily through Gofundme.

Total expenditure amounted to £22,013 the majority of which related to costs in relation to the Flyaway Ball.

Reserves policy

The trustees aim to maintain reserves sufficient to ensure the charity can meet its commitments and deliver its objectives. At 5 April 2025, unrestricted reserves stood at £16,050.

Principle funding sources

Going concern

The trustees consider the charity to be financially stable and able to continue its activities for the foreseeable future.

HARVEY DUNMORE SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 5 APRIL 2025

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of the Harvey Dunmore Scholarship Foundation (“the charity”) for the period 22 August 2024 to 5 April 2025.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity’s trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I am qualified to undertake the examination by being independent of the charity and having the requisite ability and practical experience to carry out a competent examination of the accounts.

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Act. The objective of an independent examination is to review the accounting records kept by the charity and the financial statements prepared from them, and to consider whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:

• to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; and

• to prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparation

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Charities Act 2011. The charity constitutes a public benefit entity.

The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity’s ability to continue as a going
