Rugby Focus promotes rugby training, growth, community outreach, and social support for underprivileged children and communities. We recognise the challenges faced by children within local rugby clubs, particularly concerning the affordability of rugby essentials and club fees. We aim to address these social needs through sport by fostering a vibrant and inclusive rugby community.

Rugby Focus exists to promote rugby as a means of social inclusion and community development. The charity aims to provide opportunities for children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to participate in rugby and benefit from the values and skills the sport fosters.
Main Activities
During the reporting period, Rugby Focus undertook the following activities in furtherance of its charitable objectives:

Rugby Training and Development : Delivered coaching sessions and skill-building programmes for children and young people, creating pathways into amateur rugby.

Community Outreach and Support : Assisted families facing financial hardship by providing essential rugby equipment, kits, and support with club fees, ensuring affordability and accessibility.

Inclusive Rugby Environment : Promoted an inclusive and welcoming rugby community where participants develop teamwork, discipline, and confidence, contributing to their personal growth and social integration.
These activities were carried out across Ashford, Kent, and extended to wider communities in England and Wales, benefiting children, young people, and the general public.

During the reporting period, Rugby Focus achieved significant progress in advancing its charitable objectives: • Expanded Participation Enabled over 10 children and young people to engage in rugby activities, with a particular focus on those from disadvantaged backgrounds. • Delivered Coaching Programmes Organised regular training sessions and skill-development workshops, creating clear pathways into amateur rugby for participants. • Financial Support for Families Provided essential rugby equipment and subsidised club fees for families in need, reducing financial barriers to participation. • Supplied Rugby Boots and Kit Supplied rugby boots and kit to various disadvantaged children within our local rugby club, as well as members of the women’s rugby team. • Funded Tour Costs for Disadvantaged Teams Paid for tour kit and tour fees for a disadvantaged rugby team, ensuring they could participate fully in the experience. • Travel Assistance for Women’s Rugby Players Covered fuel costs for various women’s rugby players to enable them to attend matches, supporting inclusivity and continued participation. • Community Engagement Strengthened partnerships with local schools and community organisations in Ashford and surrounding areas, promoting inclusivity and social cohesion through sport. • Volunteer Development Recruited and trained volunteers to support coaching and outreach activities, enhancing the charity’s capacity to deliver services effectively. |

Section E Financial review
Rugby Focus does not currently hold any reserves, as the charity has not Brief statement of the generated a surplus during the year.
