Introduction

Shropshire Drama Company is a Charitable Incorporation Organisation (CIO) which was registered with the Charity Commission in March 2024 and is governed by a constitution as a Foundation CIO.

The general aims and objectives of Shropshire Drama Company are:

Statement of Public Benefit

Shropshire Drama Company provides public benefit by advancing dramatic art within the United Kingdom and by endeavouring to maintain low ticket prices for their productions, thus making it more affordable for all people to enjoy dramatic performances.

Activities

Dramatic Performances

The play Supernatural Shropshire by local playwright Michele Rowland Jones was toured twice during 2024. The two tours had slightly different casts and covered 7 different venues in Shropshire and 1 venue in Powys, in order to reach residents across Shropshire and into mid-Wales.

Play Readings

These are open to both members and non-members who have expressed an interest in joining SDC. Two play readings were held in 2024:

February - Anybody for Murder by Brian Clemens and Denis Spooner November – Seven Gates a new radio play by local playwright Bethany Rivers
