## **Introduction** 

Shropshire Drama Company is a Charitable Incorporation Organisation (CIO) which was registered with the Charity Commission in March 2024 and is governed by a constitution as a Foundation CIO. 

## **Objectives** 

The general aims and objectives of Shropshire Drama Company are: 

- ❖ The production and presentation of dramatic performances of all kinds, which are challenging, worthwhile or experimental. 

- ❖ Developing, extending and refreshing the skills and experience of its members. 

## **Statement of Public Benefit** 

Shropshire Drama Company provides public benefit by advancing dramatic art within the United Kingdom and by endeavouring to maintain low ticket prices for their productions, thus making it more affordable for all people to enjoy dramatic performances.

## **Dramatic Performances** 

The play Supernatural Shropshire by local playwright Michele Rowland Jones was toured twice during 2024. The two tours had slightly different casts and covered 7 different venues in Shropshire and 1 venue in Powys, in order to reach residents across Shropshire and into mid-Wales.

## **Play Readings** 

These are open to both members and non-members who have expressed an interest in joining SDC. Two play readings were held in 2024: 

February - _Anybody for Murder_ by Brian Clemens and Denis Spooner November – _Seven Gates_ a new radio play by local playwright Bethany Rivers 

## **Website and Social Media** 

Information about Shropshire Drama Company’s activities both past and present is available via social media. Activity for 2024 was as follows: 

SDC Website –  SDC had 18 full members and a further 311 supporters. Newsletter (Sent to members and supporters) – This had a 67% open rate. Facebook Site – This had 675 followers and received 604 likes. X (Twitter) – SDC had 1125 followers. Instagram – SDC had 80 followers. 

## **Financial Summary** 

At the beginning of the year the company’s assets stood at £5,273.51. During 2024 SDC had an income of £5,498.92 and expenses totalling £2,610.91. The company’s assets at the year-end therefore stand at £8,542.75. (See the Financial Statement for transaction details.)
