The object of the charity is to advance such charitable purposes as the trustees see fit from time to time in particular but not limited to promoting the efficiency of the armed forces for the public benefit including supporting persons who are currently serving or who have served in the armed forces and their dependants.

Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.

Primary activity of the charity in this reporting period has been administration, policy writing, recruiting appropriate trustees, planning and instigating fundraising activities.

Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit

The trustees confirm that they have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when reviewing the aims and objectives of the Edward Bush Charitable Trust and in planning future activities.

Although the charity has been predominantly in its administrative stage, the trustees are satisfied that all activities undertaken during the year establishing governance structures and planning fundraising events have been directed towards furthering the charity’s purposes for the public benefit. The trustees remain committed to and ensuring that the charities purposes are fulfilled.

The trustees are satisfied that the financial position reflects steady progress in the charity’s formative year.

Statement explaining the The trustees’ policy is to build reserves sufficient to cover the policy for holding reserves purchase of a property that will be made available for use by stating why they are held Veterans Coastal Retreats (A registered charity no. 1204898). The amount held in reserves will be monitored by the trustees during the course of the year as part of our budgetary process and financial monitoring.
