We confirm that we have complied with the requirement to pay due regards to public benefit, in our operations and decision-making. Our events and activities are open to the public, and our work ontribut8S to the Communty through, for example. sharing of r8search and exhibition material including our Current two-year project on Imndrush Nurses. Apart from showcasing the resulls of this at our own events, they will be made available through public exhibitions and the Local History Archive. Structure, Govèrnance and ManagemenL' HACAS was founded as a Voluntary Organisats'on over thirty years ago. It was admitted to the Register of Charities on 20th February 2024. All Tru8tee8 and Members of our Management Committee volunteer their time to the running of the Organisalion. Th8 current tem of office is two years. Meetings are held as necessary but at least thre&monthly to monitor and review progress on actions taken andlor planned. Managlng Oryanl8atlonal Rlsk: We take a proactive approach to Risk Management. For example, as well as organisational Insuranc8 coverage, we plan activities to include roles, responsibilities. premises assessment for suitability, backed by inspections. Safeguarding is important to us so our Volunteers, including our Board, have been DBS checked. Thos8 involved in food preparation and First Aid have appropriate training. Rosèrves Policy: Our Organisation has a Reserves Policy intended to cover essential expenditure to run the Charity in line with its core purpose and to meet tls regulatory and legal obligations during a short period of cash flow pressure. However, our key strategy is to ensure all action is taken to safeguard our finances. For example all projects are subJ"8ct to budg8t s¢xrtiny and control. Financlal Review: We are grateful to our funders for enatAing us to offer help and support to members and the wider communtty. For example. members of the public attended the NHS Hypertension events as well as the IT course, helping them to access online Health and other services. The Heritage funding has enabled us to work on our Wndrush Nurses Project, helping us to highlight and share their stories.

The National Lottery Communrty Funding continues to enable us to offer a stimulating meeting place and activities including healthy meals, especialty to elderfy and disabled participants even as it allows brief periods of respite for some of their Carers induding family helpers. The funds re￿iVed during the reporting peri¢>J covered our operations with duè allowance for Restricted Funds. Our Reserve Funds have not t*en called on. Revlew of Activiti08 durin there ortin rlod. Communlcations and support.. We prodU￿d an annual Calendar of Key Dates around which cuttural and other activities were planned. The Organisation was fomed to offer mutual support to peoples of Caribbean origin and their families and importantly to nurture and share their cutture and ethos with the community around them. We also produced seasonal Newsletters to keep users and others up to date with changes and events including visits and points of contact. The Newsletters serve another important function in signaling individual and community support needs through alerts on illness or death not[￿s. Those enable Memters and others to reach oirt to support and comfort each other at such critical times. Marking Black Hlstory: March 2025 marked the end of our fiv8-year plan started in 2018, bLrt which was somewhat altered by the incursion of the COVID-19 Pandemic and its afterynath. We are pleased though that in spite of the restrictions and limrtations on physical public a¢¢ess, our service to th8 Community, our Members and the publi¢, though altered. remained. For example. our Project on Inspirational Black Men, originally scheduled for public presentation in 2019 Black History Month, was recorded online. Its public showcasirrfJ in Black History Month 2022 was then followed by our tribute to Inspirational Youth in October 2023. 261h October 2024, then allowed u8 to recap on that series by showcasing the lives of HACAS'S Inspirational people. with 8 look back at the Founding Mothers and Fathers as it Were, who started the Organisation. It was an opportunity to look back even as we move foN4ard to our next stag8. While the Project engaged hired perfonners, the event showed that the Organisation's Members and Volunteers included budding pèrformers.. they used their entertainment skills in poetry, dance, song and music including drumming io inspire the Communty afresh as they shared stories about the Founders and theirjoumey. It was a well-attended and very w811-received event. Frlday Lunchoon Club: Our Friday Luncheon Club Continues to be a key part of our offer. It plays a pivotal roK8 in enabling communty and individual linkages especially for people who may b6 retired, have mobilrty and other constraints, have few family and other links nearby. It is a Social and Cultural hub. While it closed during the Pandemi¢ period. we kept contsct with users via email and telephone. Importantly, wlth the help of lunders, a local restaurant and volunteers, we Y￿re able to continue to deliver a Friday meal to some users, a much-welcomed point of corrtact against the isolating impact of that time. So we are delighted that it is up and running again, fully functioning with more and more people wanting to attend, whether it is to hone their dominoes skills for the next toumamerrt, attend the exercise class or take part in our health promotion events. Attendees took part in the NHS Diabetes and Hypertension P￿ventIOn & Management Programmes. Apart from learning about prevention and mitigation of such condrtions, they were able to access on-sile Blood Pressure checks. An IT course run in tandem wrth the programme helped participants improve their IT skills, helping them to access online. to Health and other services. And of course a much-valued part of our luncheon dub i)ffer is the opportunty to savour a tasly and healthy Caribbean meall

Community Support and Vlsits". The Organisation offered a number of visits to pla￿S and events of interèst e.g. we arranged a Canal Boat trip. a trip to the seaside and a Windrush Museum trtp. As well as taking part in and supporting local community and national cumural events, our Volunteers, including Trustees, presented a stall of Artefa¢ts and infomation at a number of events. Future and on oln Plans. Honourlng Wlndrush Nurs8S: We have started on a key tw¢>year project examining the work of our Windrush Nurses and their contribution to the National Health Service from tts In￿pIlon and beyond. The work will form part of our wblic exhibition as well become part of Harrow's Heritage Archives. A Young Group: For several years sinc8 its forniation the Organisation operated groups for young people, both of which are paused, but which we have start8d work to restart. The Boys Group was instrumental in raising the attainment of boys who attended, through its mentorship programme, sports, financial lit8raGy and general support for leaming. An inspirational group of them retumed to our Black History Event in 2023 to tell us about ils impac* on their lives. Now grown up with Gareers, trades, professions, and businesses even. Listening to them was an inspiring experience in itself. The Organisation also ran a group that focused on Perfomiing Arts. Indeed the group perfomed at a number of notable events including for HM the late Queen on her visit to mark Harrow Borough's 50th Anniversary. At the BHM Event in 2023. we were also able to appreciate the lasting impact of the group through Ihe witnassing of the skills of one now Student of Mèdia & Perfoming Arts, who filmed the event as part of her woject work. The COVID-19 interruption and other changes continue to impact the young, so we recognised the importance of resuming our outreach work and helping to f￿111818 their progress to achieving their goals - to be the inspiration they can be. We look forward to a September stsrt of a revamped Group for the young on88. Organlsatlonal revlew and Stratoglc plan: The Organisational membership is growing with more contacts being made including individuals and organisations wanting to engage with us because of our offer, as well as th088 seeking our support. Our Plan includes continuing work on our post registration action list. It covers a Truslee and Management Committee audit as well as a recruitment and training programme to ensure we hava the people and skills needed in place to mainlain and take us fomard. 11 also includes r8cruitment of key officers to 8UPPOrt the Organi3alion's work. Another important strand for us golng lorward is to ensure ac￿SS to a resilient source of funds to deliver our work, especially with the youth and their families. Statement of Trustees, R8spon$lbllftles: Our Trustees are responsible for having continuing clear ¢￿ersIght over the work of HACAS, its Plans and Outcomes as well as impacts ensuring that they are in line with our core valu8s and purpose. Importantly they are responsible for ensuring that the Organisation meets its regulatory and legal duties, including in the handling and disbursement of funds. Signature.. Signature: Name: ame..
