Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

This period was the first since the founding of Clandestine Theatre and so we were learning many lessons about the types of activities, how to fund and deliver them successfully and most importantly how to ensure accessibility and diversity of participation from the local community.

As this was an initial year we have not completed the full programme of annual events which we will have in place for future years, but we successfully established the charity and commissioned the first series of professionally-led theatre workshops for 30 participants from across Bristol and the local area. The participants came from a range of backgrounds with varied levels of experience in the dramatic arts.

We were able to deliver a series of workshops sharing professional theatre skills leading to increased confidence and social inclusion from many participants. Through the funding model we were able to provide subsidised places for people who would normally be excluded from theatre participation.

Other work initiated in this period was focussed on future programmes and productions, and evaluating financial models to support the charity’s purpose in a sustainable and successful way.
