Achievements and Performance

|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The hall was closed for business in March 2024, demolished and a new hall is currently being re-built. The old hall was over 70 years old, internally the building lacked flexibility and was unsuited for adaptation, poorly insulated and costly to heat. Toilet facilities and disabled access were inadequate with a shortage of storage. Externally the walls showed signs of dampness, and the windows needed replacing. With the aid of a Welsh Government grant and our own funds a new modern hall has been designed which will offer better facilities for users including a large room seating 150 people, two meeting rooms and a modern kitchen. Solar panels have been installed to supply energy to the grid and in future to charge batteries for our own use. Heating will be by means of air source and with facility for air conditioning if required. Five tenders were received and a price of £654,500 was accepted. Building works were commenced in March and is scheduled for completion in December 2024. In view of the commitment to build the new Hall, the previous Charity was closed and all assets transferred to the new CIO in January 2024. |
