During this early start-up period of our CIO,
Trustees have focused on establishing the
foundations required to deliver our
charitable objective of promoting
community participation in healthy
recreation.
Our main charitable activities have been to
prepare us for future delivery, and includes:
- Recruiting two additional Trustees to
ensure we have a board of at least five, as
per the good practice stated in the Charity
Governance Code.
- Continued to strengthen the charity’s
governance arrangements, by reviewing
our meeting structure, governance policies,
induction of new trustees, and clarifying
roles and responsibilities.
- Developed a reserves policy.
- Explored new relationships within local
networks, funders and with stakeholders to
raise awareness of the charity in the area
we serve.
- Applied for our first grants for the CIO and
are awaiting the outcomes in March 2026.
-Recruited volunteers to have a workforce
ready to offer capacity to future delivery.
- Continued to monitor community need
within the general public, to inform our
planning of future activities.
- Held Trustee planning days to co-design
future programmes, that also included
developing transparent criteria for our
future ‘Enabling Fund’ as part of our
charitable activities and purpose.

whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit

during the reporting period. We await news
of potential grant income which will be new
restricted funds during our next period for
specified future charitable activities.

hard to secure in-kind contributions to help
get the CIO established.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 Trustees have and will continue to monitor
our financial reserves. The purpose of
holding reserves is to ensure that the Trust
can continue to advance its charitable
objectives, particularly the promotion of
community participation in healthy
recreation, to be able to plan for level of
financial uncertainty if this arises or modest
unexpected costs.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 The funds currently in our charity account
are our reserves, as these funds are
unrestricted. As of 5/4/2025 we have
