Activities

DATIO fosters community development by bridging the gap between landlords with empty properties and charitable organisations in need of space. Our mission is to provide vital support to charities by offering them free access to a diverse range of premises across the UK. We understand the challenges faced by charities, particularly the limitations surrounding access to affordable & suitable spaces.

Objects: The objects of the CIO (“Objects”) are, for the benefit of the public, to:(a) promote the efficiency and effectiveness of charities in particular, but not exclusively, by enabling other charities to occupy vacant property or land suitable for their needs on a rent-free basis for use in connection with their charitable purposes;(b) promote the efficiency of the police, the fire and rescue services and the ambulance services in particular, but not exclusively, by enabling these services and their personnel (where necessary for operational reasons) to occupy vacant property or land suitable for their needs on a rent-free basis; and(c) promote the sound administration of the law and the prevention of crime, in particular but not exclusively, by enabling public law enforcement agencies to occupy vacant property or land suitable for their needs on a rent-free basis, where and insofar as this will improve the agency’s ability to administer the law and prevent crime.
