In addition we undertake 3 open meet galas each year to generate much needed revenue and also an aid to the local economy. These galas benefit young people from a variety of clubs from primarily the North of England to compete in a friendly environment. Some swimmers attain County, Regional and National qulaifying times and some become vounteers and officials themselves in later years. We also encourage our swimmers to be role models and promote a positive work ethic. |

| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Training sessions are attended by all our swimmers each week. Some of these sessions are held in the very early morning from 5am. Our swim squads train form a minimum of 2 hours a week to a maximum of 14 hours across 6 day period with many of the Saturdays resulting in competitions. Our 3 open meets each year Spring, Summer and Winter attract a large number of swimmers, from primarily the North of England giving all swimmers the chance to achieve personal goals, whether that will be a personal best time or qualification times for County, Regional or National competitions. Each meet is heavily subscribed and whilst promoting good and healthy competition our aim is to make each event memorable for the swimmers and spectators alike involving music, games and a lot of fun. Our meets are run over 2 and 3 days which helps the local economy by our swimmers and parents undertake bookings at local hotels and caravan parks, with many enjoying the local hospitality during the evenings. All our officials and Referees are very well looked after and we acknowledge their continued support. Our galas help us to maintain the lowest fees we can for our members helping with family budgets whilst our swimmers benefit from learning teamwork and encouraging an environment where everyone matters. We have been able to purchase equipment, that benfits all our swimmers. |
One of our volunteers helps administor our web site and we have purchsed a number of licenses for our computers to help our volunteers with the many hours of courses we have to undertake. The Trustees recognise that this is a necessary requirement for our sport and reimburse any costs that are incurred. Once again this last year we organised a ten pin bowling event followed by fish and chips and ice cream and a summer barbecue as well as a Winter party following our AGM. We have received no financial donations this last year however, we have recived support from local businesses of goods towards our galas.
