ObJecL8 and activatles of the CharRty. The Bathurst Charity was establtshed fin 1868, to &quire and admi￿(er properties in the Paish of Debden, Essex as almshouses. The objects of the Charity are for the benefit of the public withln the parishes of Debden and Wimbish, near Saffron Walden Rn E&sex, and I￿￿ude the relief of tM)verty OT hardship by the provision and n￿l￿tenance of al￿shouse accollun(xktion. ResidenLS of the almshouses are beneflciaries of the Charlry, no( tenants, and pay maintenance contributions. not renL Malntenance Con￿lbU￿0ns are reviewed by the Th￿teeS annually. The almshouses compdse four units, and thiring the year provfided housing for four pwple, one of the unfits being unoccupied pending refurbishmem, which commenced in September 2025. This major project ts being funded by a loan from The AIn￿houSe Associatlon, a ￿an[ from the Searle Thist, for both of which the Thisiees wish to express their grauiude, ￿ well as the Charity's own resources. During the year, the Charity has carried out any necessary mainienance work on the other propenfies.
