Once the bank account was fulty operational all the unrestricted and some restricted and designated fund5 were transferred as openlng grants from Petrockstowe Methodist Church1£12,729) and St Petrlx's Church {£15.488) to Petrockstowe Community Church {SCLep). Ex¢ludln8 the openln8 8fdnts, total recelpts on the unrestrict•d G•neral Fund were £14,911. and payments from this fund were £16,907, 8iving a deflcit of £1,996 which has been funded through a reduction in reserrfe5. This is not considered a major issue as the expenditure included £2.385 of non-recurrin8 Iterns.. The creation of the children's area in church. installation of the new sound system, improvements to the fire exlt, improvernent to the car park entrance, purchase of specific church accounting software and the faculty fèe to perrnit Stems to be moved from the old St Petroc's Church Building into Petrockstowe Community Church, We continue to be a church with a reliance on Fundraising, in that 24% of our income comes directly from our Fundraising activities. The trustees would like to thank the volunteets that organize and run these events as they play an important part of church life, financially but a150 provide an important Ilnk with our wider communlty. We have recently re8lStered with Easy Fundraising, where we reeeNe a donation when our '5UPPOrters' make purchases on-line.
Page 5 of 12 The trustees agreed to move £15.000 to a 'designated fund, for the future development of the church building. The proposed development 15 to improve attessibillty to the buiklin8 and better accommodate both the Methodist and Church of England ways of worship. As a Local Ecumeni¢al Partnership we contribute to both the Diocesan'common Fund, and the Methodist Circuit Assessment. We use the cakulation recommended by Churches Together which works on th8 principle that the total to be paid should be comparable to that whlch a sln8le denomlnational church would be asked to pay, and not attrart either subsidy or unusual burden. The overall amount increased by 7.7% thls year. So far we have been able maintain our practice of giving 10(YX of the amount requested. Reserves Pollcv The Trustoes have resolved to maintain. if possible, a resen4e equating to at least three months unrèstricted payments to cover emergencies. This equates to £2,500 (The Methodlst A55es5ment and Church of England Common Funds have been excluded from this calculation as they are considered gifts, should they be included then the figure would increase to £4.900). At Petrockstowe Community chh ISCLEP) we are In the fortunate position of having sufficlent reserves of over £25,000 which are comfortably in axcèss of the requiréd l•v•l of reserves. Safeguardln8 Und•rthe agreement to fonn the Local Ecumeni¢al Partnership, and in line wlth the re¢ommendatlons of both ehurch bodles, Petrockstowe Community Church has adopted and fully cornplles wlth the Methodlst Policy and resources forSafeguardin8, DBS Checks and trdining. This provldes full compliance with the Church of En8kind duty under sectlon 5 ofthe Safeguarding and Clerzv Dlscipline Measure 2016 (duty to have re8ard to House of 81shops' guldance on safeguardln8 chlldren and vulnèrable adults). Whether thls Is In cleaning the church or leadin8 services, readin8 on a Sunday or runnin8 the refreshments at the Monday Tea & Tots Coffee Mornin& providing the weleorne at the door or one of many other jobs that need dolng- they are all important in the Ilfe of this church.
