Although providing a service to all young people, Bamsley Youth Zone will focus on attendance and participth'on by young members across the entire community who will be able lo enjoy affordable acc&$s to all tha opportuni(ies that the facilits￿ will provide. This will lead to improved achievements and enhanced a$piratiu)ns amongst young members of the local communty. Reserve$ policy The Founder Patron (revenue) campoign is well underway and the TnJstees have prepared projections of the operating costs expected once the facility is fulty open. Th9 Board of Trustees of Barnsley Youth Zone ha5 established a reserves policy which apprcynatety reflects the risks lo ¥thich the Charty is exposed. On¢e the YoLrth Zone is fully operating and in compliance with such polKy, it will review ￿gUlartY both tha sum il wishes lo hold in reseNes in the unrestricted budget and the basis for that figure. Tha reserves policy does r￿1 consKler expenditure which is linked to restricted projects and Iherefijre covered by restricted funds. In reviewing the potential costs that could arise th)uld a Signifi￿nt reduction in In￿Me be incurred, the Trustee$ have delemined that unreslrKled, Yree,, resetves should be maintained al approximal&ly 3 months running costs. This is based on the Nnning costs when the Youth Zone is fulty op&rational and is not therefore based on the expendrture in these accounts. Total reserves at 31 March 2025 were £7.982.691 of which £7.868,497 are restricted re8eNes and £114,194 ar8 unrestricted reseTVO$. £7,869,197 of totsl reserves can onty be reali5ed by disposing of fixed assets.
