Charity name: Oasis Animal Sanctuaries

Charity registration number: 1204029

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To promote humane behaviour towards
animals by providing appropriate care,
protection, treatment and security for
animals which are in need of care and
attention by reason of sickness,
maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill
usage and to educate the public in matters
pertaining to animal welfare in general and
the prevention of cruelty and suffering
among animals.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
During the period specified Oasis began
repairing and preparing housing for animals
at our sanctuary in Portugal. This was only
partly completed during the period so we
were limited in how many animals we could
help. However, we did still manage to help a
number of animals during the period (please
see below).
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The trustees have had regard to the
guidance issued by the Charity Commission
on public benefit and we feel that even
though our Charity is very new we are
already making steady progress towards
fulfilling our aims.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 During the period up to 31.12.24 we had
limited facilities and limited funds but we
were able to do the following:
We provided temporary care (and
behavioural training) for a cat who was
unable to stay in his multi cat home due to
him instigating numerous cat fights that
resulted in serious injuries to the another
cats. We worked with the family to try and
rectify the problem so he could return home
but when this proved impossible we re-
homed the cat for them.
We provided food for the local street cats.
We picked up a stray (lost) dog from a busy
main road and managed to find her owner.
We took on the long term care of an elderly
horse with arthritis and cancer who had been
neglected and was suffering from
malnutrition.
We took on the long term care of an elderly
dog who had been living rough on the
streets for 5 years. He had cancer and
needed surgery to save his life.

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 We feel that given the charity is very new we
are in a reasonably good position financially.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 NA
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 zero
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 Our charity is very young (this is our first
return), although we did receive some
donations in the period we also spent money
to repair facilities in order to provide housing
for animals in need and also to help a
number of animals hence we had no spare
money to hold as a reserve. We anticipate
that donations will increase over the
following years as people become more
aware of us and our work and then we will
be able to accrue a reserve fund.
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24
Explanation of any
uncertainties about the
charity continuing as a going

Para 1.23 None: we are confident that the charity will
