Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purpose of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To support children going through
cancer treatment partcularly those
with ASD and their family’s by
providing them with fnancial support
and practcal support in the form of
entertainment packages and food
vouchers.
Summary of the main
actvites in relaton to those
purposes for the public
beneft, in partcular, the
actvites, projects or
services identfed in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
The frst year was slow and
fundraising was minimal from
fundraising actvites.
We put together 40 entertainment
packages to promote the work we do
for children going through a cancer
diagnosis whilst working on the
referrals paperwork and the
informaton that needs to be included
to make it simple and efcient for
hospital staf to understand and send
requests.
Feed back from vouchers and
entertainment packages sent in has
been positve.
From experience of being in hospital
over the Christmas period with our
daughter we were saddened to know
she would be missing out on some of
the festvites that young children
enjoy at this tme of year, including
writng a leter to Santa. Therefore,
we set ourselves an objectve to send
Santa post boxes onto the two
children’s cancer wards andprovide
them with the opportunity to write a
leter to Santa. We write individual
leters back, with a certfcate and
Christmas bell to hang on their tree or
put at the end of there bed on
Christmas Eve making sure Santa
visits.
This was well received and we had
over 25 leters and pictures from
children of all ages.
We also provided gifs, arts and crafs
for the staf to supply to the children
admited over the Christmas period
which was a huge hit as reported by
the nursing staf.
We were asked about overnight bags
for parents with a child who was
suddenly admited as the hospital
ofen don’t have supplies of
toothbrushes etc for parents.
Therefore, we made up ten overnight
bags for parents and delivered them
to the hospital to hand out as and
when they were needed.
Statement confrming
whether the trustees have
had regards to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
beneft.
Para 1.18 During the year the trustees have
always acted in the best interests of
the charity in accordance with the
guidance on public beneft provided
by the Charites Commission.

achievements of the charity,

to the circumstances of its

whole.
Para 1.20 We have sent out 146 packages during
this frst year and feedback has been
very positve, parents commentng
about how thoughtul it is and it kept
their child entertained for ages.
Families were also grateful of food
vouchers and stated they have been a
great help during difcult tmes.
“Thank you so much for our daughter’s
package, she has been in hospital for
three weeks, these gifs have given her
such a boost and provided her with
hours of fun, I can’t thank you enough”.
We have received leters in the post
from an anonymous supporter who
wanted us to know the admire the
work we do, especially given the history
of how the charity was started.
The parents over night bags we
provided contained, a fask, tea, cofee,
hot chocolate, biscuits, toothpaste, a
toothbrush and other essental items
that are needed at short notce. These
came in handy for parents who
suddenly found themselves staying in
with their child unable to leave to buy
essentals. Staf were extremely
grateful and it meant parents didn’t
need to leave their child’s bed side to

find a shop or spend money for purchase these items.
