Financial Review
The attached financial statements show the current financial state of affairs, which the trustees consider to be sound and will continue to closely monitor. The charity relies on donations and offerings from its members and the public. It is recognised that donations and offerings can fluctuate from year to year, thus the trustees aim to ensure that the charity has sufficient resources to continue its activities and to meet its obligations. To this end, it is considered prudent that sufficient liquid funds are maintained.
Risk Management
The Trustees actively review the major risks, which the Charity faces on a regular basis and believe that maintaining reserves at current levels, combined with an annual review of the controls over key financial systems, will provide sufficient resources in the event of adverse conditions. The Trustees have also examined other operational and business risks faced by the Charity and confirm that they have established systems to mitigate these risks.
The Trustees do not believe the Charity is subject to any substantial risk beyond the liabilities disclosed in this Report and Accounts
Trustees' responsibilities in relation to the financial statements
Charity law requires the trustees to have accounts prepared that give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of its income and expenditure for the financial period. In doing so, the trustees are required to:
-
Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
-
Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
-
○ Prepare the accounts on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue to operate.
The trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.

SIRI GURU SINGH SABHA, CROYDON Registered Charity no: 1203036 Independent Examiner's report to the Trustees of SIRI GURU SINGH SABHA, CROYDON
We report on the accounts for the period ended 31 March 2025. set out on pages
Responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 ("the 2011 Act")) and that an Independent examination is required instead.
It is our responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my
-
examination, to follow the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of the independent examiner's report
Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
We have completed our examination. We confirm that no material matters have come to our attention in connection with the examination which gives us cause to believe that in, any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of
-
accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
We have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
