We work in partnership with other organisations to promote services beneficial to homeless rough sleepers and vulnerable in the community. Assisting and supporting access to housing, helping with benefit claims, form filling, obtaining deposits for accommodation, sign posting to other practitioners and giving ongoing support where appropriate. Activities in the year Doorways Middlesbrough provides and supports clients with a hot nutritious meal three days a week. Support and plan for homeless and the vulnerable to benefit and for them to receive support with their daily needs and future planning. Doorways Middlesbrough offer a personal hygiene facility also housing and health support. Doorways provides support and facilities and assist the many homeless and rough sleepers in Middlesbrough with help to turn their life around, interact and engage with external service practitioners. Doorways provide and serve food for up to 60 clients, without these services homeless and rough sleepers in the community would have very little or no support. The support Doorways provides has an immense impact on client's lives knowing they have the support and facilities at Doorways Community Café and Hub venue to turn to for help. Doorways holds a register and data base of service users, each member signs in to the establishment to access food and register as a client user, some of our clients are sign posted to other practitioners and services and record keeping is kept of which services they have engaged with. Doorways Trustees and volunteers believe operating at grassroots level that a better and clearer understanding for the need Doorways facility provides as of the consistently high number of people accessing the service. Doorways volunteers are the focus of advocacy and reasonably give up their time when they can. Doorways put people's voices at the centre of their mission and ensure homeless and vulnerable people have a strong voice. Where our money comes from Doorways income comes from external funders, Middlesbrough Council Local Authority, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Albert Hunt Foundation, Go fund me donations. The Teesside Charity. Freemasons, Tees Valley Community Foundation, North Star Housing, Sir Halley Stewart Trust. CEO Sleepout, Roseberry Coffee Company, Thirteen Housing, A. Preston, William Leech Foundation. Doorways also receives surplus food stock from Aldi supermarket, Lidl and Salisbury's.
