TRUSTEES' REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 JULY 2024
The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 July 2024.
Objectives and activities
The purpose of the charity is to advance the education of all the pupils in the school by; 1) developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
2) Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities they should undertake.
Achievement and performance
The charity had a successful year of events which included, Christmas events, school discos, raffles, a rainbow challenge fundraising event and a summer fair. The charity also sold refreshments at various parents evenings and Christmas performances Ongoing income was generated through costume sales and online fundraising.
Financial review
The charity raised funds from various activities and grants, the gross income generated was £30,068. Restricted funds of £11,000 was distributed as required to contribute towards the new sensory gardens at school.
Unrestricted funds were spent on Phonics reading books, art supplies and a new whiteboard screen. As well as supporting science week, art week, early years supplies. Friendship benches in the school playgrounds and glockenspiels for a whole class in music amongst other things.
The unrestricted funds at the end of the year to be used for future projects totalled £12,337, this has been carried forward to fund some larger expenses in he future.
Plans for the future
The charity has been requested to fund a new iPad for each classroom to support day to day learning.
Structure, governance and management
Durrington Infant and Junior School PTA is a registered charity with the charity commission as required by the Charities Act 2011.
The trustees are appointed by the board of trustees. It is intended that the trustees will serve a term of 1 year and will reconisder their position at the end of each term. The trustees will meet at least 4 times a year. New trustees will receive a copy of the constitution and training is undertaken where considered appropriate.
The trustees have considered the major risks to which the charity is exposed and due to the nature of its activities do not believe there are any.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Durrington Infant and Junior School PTA
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preperation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in respect of my examination fothe charity's financial statements carried out under sectioin 145 of the 2011 Act. In carryiing out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act;
or
(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts.
