Annual Review

Hagley Field Sports Association was established in August 2023. This review therefore covers the period from August to December 2023.

Soon after establishment of the charity, Hagley Field Sports Association took tenancy of Hagley Field, a large green space in the centre of Rugeley. This tenancy allowed the charity to begin delivering on its objectives to create and maintain premium football pitches for grassroots youth teams.

As the charity began without any income, efforts started in earnest and ten football pitches of various FA sizes, covering all age groups were mapped on the field. The grass was mowed by volunteers, using their own equipment and pitches were marked by hand.

The Association was pleased to be approached by multiple local football clubs and teams who wanted to use Hagley Field as their home pitch. A pricing structure was established to allow clubs and teams to rent pitches for a season or for one off games.

By the end of the reporting period Hagley Field was utalised by five local clubs, seeing over 15 teams playing regular games at Hagley field.

£8,769 of revenue was generated from August - December 2023, including £6,276 from pitch rentals and a further £2,493 in donations. This income was used to purchase paint for pitches, goal posts for all 10 pitches and petrol for mowers. All work on the fields were done through volunteers so the charity had no employment costs. The Association finished the year with a surplus of £1,241.

2024 Plans

Throughout the next year the Association will continue to offer premium pitches to local grassroot football teams and clubs and hopes to attract more clubs and teams to play at Hagley Field.

To support this objective the Association intends to:
