The Iruslees have adopted ihe provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities- Slalement of Recommended Praclice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard Applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 IEffeclive 1 January 2019} Who we are Elsie's Rose is a regislered charity in England and Wales, number 1201566 and is governed by ils Governing Document which was adopted on 12 January 2023. Elsie's Rose uses a 'Conslilulion of Charitable Incorporated Organisalion. whose onty voting members are its charity Iruslees. Elsie's Rose was founded following the death of Elsie Rose Gould, agecl 13 monlhs. In 2021, Elsie ha¢Y emergency surgery lo drain fluid from a cyst on her brain, caused by a non-cancerous tumour. Sadly, Elsie never woke up. In the week5 Ihal followed. Elsie's parents were supported by family and friends, and a small amounl of savings, bul after 2 few weeks needed Io felurn lo work for financial stability. Elsie's Rose was sel up in her memory lo provide financial support for families of children who have passed away, or are re¢eiving end of lrfe care. Trustees The Iru51ees are responsible for all decision making of the charTty. Replacement or addilional trustees are appoinled when required due lo a vacancy or an increase in workload. New Iruslees are recruited for their continued inlerest and commitment lo improvifjg and expanding Elsie's Rose or rf they have a specific skill which will help run the charity more effectively. The decision and approval prO5S lo recruit a new Iruslee stts with Ihe current tnjslees. Trustees give their time freely and no remuneration is paid. Charitable Activity The objective of Elsie's Rose is lo provide relief of financial hardship for parents of children lup lo the age of 161 who are receiv£ng end of life care and following their death in such ways as the Iru51ees from time-ltiMe think fil, in particular, but not exclusively by the provision of grants and other forms of financial 2SSi5tance. Elsie's Rose has formed close relationships with tKJlh the Paediatri¢ Intensive Care Unit IPlCU} at Soulhamplon General Hospital. where Elsie was treated and Julia's House. The majority of families needing support are referred to Elsie's Rose via one of these. During the year. Elsie's Rose has formed a relationship wilh a local bereavement counsellor and has now expanded the SUPF)Ort on offer lo include six counselling sessions. either face lo face or online. with the pos5ibilily of increasing lo twelve rf agreed between Ihe Injslees and the counsellor. During the year. Elsie's Rose has supported enty families. providing grants and food vouchers lo help ease some of the financial pressures faced by families following the passing of their child. Elsie's Rose also provided independent counselling support lo two families. Applications for support are reviewed by a voting committee, who have been given delegated decision- Making authority by Ihe Iruslees. The voting committee is made up of Iwo Iruslees and three volunteers.

Application5 are reviewed within 24 hours from receipt. Financial Review Accounts are prepared for the year lo 31 March. Total income for the period was £77,390.93 {2024= £90.606.921. Income was generated by individuals participating in sponsored events. one-off events organised by third parties and corporate events. During the year.. 26 individuals or groups completed sponsored events, including an abseil. bicycle ride5. a ceilidh and multiple running events., 6 individuals personally made regular donalions via a direct debil. and 36 one-off donations were Made. including one-off personal donations and funds raised from events organised in Elsie's name. Total expenditure for the year was £30.052.85 12024.. £17,410.96}. Of Ihis. £23,080.57 12024.. £9,200.00) was used lo provide grants and food vouchers lo the Iwenty families who reached out to Elsie's Rose for support. and counselling support for tsvo of those. The remaining expenditure included enlry fees for running events. through which participanls raised funds for Elsie's Rose. promotional items such as leaftets and printed t-shirts and fundraising costs. These costs svpport the key objective of the charity by proV1ng further opportunits.es to raise funds and support familie5. As al 31 March 2025, Elsie's Rose held cash of £120.534_04 (2024= £72,795.96). Elsie's Rose does not reserve funds. Firiancial support is provided lo families when eligible applications are received. Elsie's Rose support is only available when there are sufficient fvnds. Elsie's Rose does not receive any Government funding and the tnjstees are aware that continued income for E15ie s Rose is reliant on individual and corporate 511PPQrters. The Iruslees keep costs lo a minimum. whilst erbsuring SUfflent investment in promoting further fundraising or income opportunilbes. The Year Ahead The trustees of Elsie's Rose are overwhelmed by the 5UPPOrt and proud of the progre55 the charity has made during ils second year. as evidenced by the level of sponsorship and donations received and being able to expand support for families by offering independent counselling. Looking to the year ahead, the Iruslees have four key objectives.. Expand our relationships with healthcare providers lo reach more families in need., Explore other sources of income, such as charity specific grants. which are more readily accessible to a Charity that is mre established." The most significant risks are: Risk and Im act A decline in funding and donations, with the resultant impact being that Ihe charity is unable lo support families when applications are received. Mili alion The Iruslees dosely monitor the cash reserves and are mindful that Elsie's Rose does not have a guaranteed Source of regular funding. The trtJslee5 regulafly promote the charity and ils cause. Ihrough social media, newspaper articles, building nehvorks wilh local businesses and word of moulh. To generate pubic inleresl in both holding fundraising events and making donations. From lime to lime, the Iruslees also organise fundraising events. Fraudulent donations could result in the charity becoming involved in illegal activity. such as money laundering. To help prevent fraud. the charity encourages donations via repulable fundraising platfom)s such as Just Giving. The charity does not publicise ils bank details. Requests for the charity's bank details are reviewed by Ihe Irustees, who consider what events have or are being organised.
