Period start date: 6[th] Janurary 2025 Finish date: 5[th] Janurary 2026 Charity name: Uganda Piggery Project

Charity registration number: 1201364

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The relief of poverty of orphans and poor
children in Hoima Western Uganda
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
We identified a need to secure the crops
and newly installed well from thieves and
wild animals. The main activity this year
was to build a perimeter wall around the
crops and newly installed well. The wall
project will surround 4 acres of maize
and beans. The project is to be divided
into 3 phases over 2 years. This will
benefit the local community by providing
a safe and secure environment for crop
growing and collecting clean water from
the well.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The trustees familiarised themselves with
the Charity Commission guidance in
conjunction with the Diocesan Executive
Director of Justice and Peace
Commission in Hoima Uganda. The
decision was taken to secure the land
and well, as this would benefit the
orphans, poor children and the wider
local community in Hoima Uganda.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Construction of the wall has been divided
in to 3 phases as a 2 year project.
1.
Making the bricks
2.
Building a kiln and firing the
bricks
3.
Digging the foundation and
building the wall.
Work commenced in Jan 2025 and the
first and second phase has been
completed this year. The bricks were
moulded near the farm by local workers
and when the bricks were made, a kiln
was built to fire the bricks. This is a
common African practice and it provided
local employment and helped reduce the
overall cost of the project. The kiln was
built and the bricks fired in preparation
for phase 3 building the wall.
